Week 42 — I checked 103 KK websites. 37 were broken.
103 local business websites checked, two new projects started, ad enquiries up from 27 to 41, and why strangers said yes to only 1 in 16 of my proposals.
I checked 103 business websites in KK this week. 37 were broken, and 3 were quietly showing gambling pages.
Every Sunday I post my week here: what got built, what broke, and what you can take from it. Pictures first. Two minutes. Scroll.
Wins
Last week's yeses became real projects
Both deposits landed. The online shop already has all 45 products loaded on a test site, and the new home page is up for the client to see.
A lead from Paraguay, through ChatGPT
A business on the other side of the world found Bingo through ChatGPT. Proposal sent in US dollars, two options. No answer yet.
More enquiries, each one cheaper
A pest control and cleaning company: enquiries up from 27 to 41, and each one now costs about a third less. Then I tightened two more clients' ads the same evening.
A wildlife tour company went live
Its new site moved off the preview and onto its own domain on Saturday, and a test enquiry sent through the form.
Built this week — and what it does
Two things left the workshop this week. One finds businesses that need help. One shows what that help looks like.
1 · A list of 103 KK businesses, and which ones have a broken website
Most owners don't know their site is broken. Their customers do. This list is where Bingo's next jobs come from.
For you: not sure your site works on a phone? WhatsApp me the link → I'll check it for free.
2 · A company website, rebuilt in one day
Google Lighthouse, mobile, 16 Oct.
A cold-room refrigeration company renewed with Bingo. Instead of patching the old site, I rebuilt it on the same simple setup I now use for every new site.
For you: if your site is slow on a phone, a rebuild can cost less than another year of patching. Ask me →

Where my week went
Still working on
The first messages to the 103. Written, waiting for WhatsApp to approve them.
A 114-page website preview. Built for a supply base. The client sees it on Tuesday.
Video 1 still not recorded. Third week running. The script hasn't changed.

My own Claude skills this week
Instructions I wrote once, so Claude does the job my way every time.
Show the full weekEverything else from the week, in six lines.
- For clients: two new sites live, a 114-page preview built, ads tuned for three clients, and a Malay page for a dental clinic so it shows up for "klinik gigi".
- For new business: two deposits paid, a proposal out to an overseas lead, a planning offer ready for a sports centre, and a letter to a government department about a funding lead.
- For Bingo: an assistant that sorts my open jobs, a weekly list of Sabah companies that just got funding, and a count of every lead this year.
- For SabahGuide: issue #016 of Sabah This Week built, a plan for finding sponsors, and 113 subscribers.
- For my florists: a price fixed on one wreath, and the keep-the-cart fix checked: 12 of 14 card payments went through.
- For the long game: my August life recap, eight weeks of Weekly Wins back-filled on this site, and 4 LinkedIn posts.
Other tools this week: Zoho Books, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Stripe, SiteGround, Gmail, Google Drive.
If you do one thing this week
Ask your web person one question: "When does my domain expire, and is auto-renew on?"
One client's ran out this week. The website and every email address stopped together.
That’s my week. How was yours? Tell me on LinkedIn or in the comments on Substack. Next one lands next Sunday.
